“Every event has a purpose and every setback its lesson. I have realized that failure, whether of the personal, professional or even spiritual kind, is essential to personal expansion. It brings inner growth and a whole host of psychic rewards. Never regret your past. Rather, embrace it as the teacher that it is.” – The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin S. Sharma

The Lies of the World

The world often lies to us that nothing has purpose and that setbacks are simply expected and are setbacks. The lies are perpetrated through media and news, social media, colleagues that don’t have our best interests in mind, and sometimes even those we deem friends and family. For some reason, critical thinking is no longer cherished, and sometimes may even be deemed a “conspiracy theory” when there is no agreement between parties. How does this change?

What Can You Do?

You’ve got to take a stand. Take a stand for yourself. Take a stand for others. It is believing that all things happen for a reason, and that every event has a purpose. It is believing that a lesson can be learned in what may be initially experienced as a setback. A “setback” is often followed by a breakthrough if that is your mindset. Changing our thinking that all things have purpose, and that failures are nearly stepping stones will not only serve in our personal growth, and I believe it can change the world.

Be the Astronaut that Goes to Mars

The past is the past. It’s already in the books. What purpose did that event serve? Sometimes it is hard to see because of the nature of that event. Yet, it happened, and you’ve grown from it. Every experience has a lesson, and when we take those lessons and implement them, we experience growth. We cut a new path in our journey of life. If you’re reading this, what is to say that your growth and change of mindset could lead you to be the next Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, the next Picasso, or a future astronaut that travels to Mars. Embrace the past as a teacher, implement the lessons learned, and watch new doors open in your life.

Stop listening to the lies of the world. Start listening to the lessons learned in this journey of life. Be curious. Ask questions. “Every event has a purpose and every setback a lesson.”

If this message hits home with you, take a moment to share as it may be what someone else needs to hear today.

Now go make it a great day and experience the lessons of life.
